Our Top 5 of 2015

Every year brings new opportunities to apply the kitchen and bath design process, our experience, and exciting new products and trends to our customers’ remodeling requirements.  With each project we see the process go from concept to completion, and see the finished design become a part of clients’ homes and family life.  2015 was no exception as we transformed spaces from kitchens to bathrooms to laundry rooms.  It is very difficult to pick our favorites, but here is a top 5 list of our remodeling projects in 2015.

Old and New

This kitchen design in Grosse Pointe Farms has an eclectic style with beautiful features throughout the room.  The bright space with kitchen cabinets finished in a Benjamin Moore gray owl color is punctuated by a contrasting dark cherry island, stainless chimney style hood, and stainless appliances.  Like many of our projects last year, customized storage was a big requirement, and this kitchen is full of storage solutions.  The design was finished off with details like ice box hinges on some of the cabinetry, crown molding around the room, and a splash of color in the bright bar stools.

Stone Meets Glass

This bathroom design in Grosse Pointe Woods included a large walk-in shower with a Euro-style glass door.  Glass and stone tiles provide the perfect combination of color and texture throughout the room, and complement the warm wood vanity cabinet.  The shower includes two showerheads, and the matching grab bars blend in nicely with the design.  This design is the perfect solution for a master or guest bath, and offers both luxurious touches and practical elements.

Entertaining in the Galley

With a 5’ Galley Workstation at the center of this kitchen design in Bloomfield Hills, the layout and design features are perfect for family meals or entertaining larger groups.  The elongated island includes plenty of extra storage, workspace, and seating for casual dining or for guests to chat while you prepare food.  The hutch features a bar, undercounter beverage refrigerator, coffee station, and extra sink.  Best of all it is removed from the food preparation area, creating a separate zone where guests can get drinks without having to cross paths with the busy chef.  Extra style touches bring out the personality of this space like the Elica stainless range hood, sliding barn door, and artwork.  What a unique space and a great place for family and friends to spend time together!

Kitchen with a View and A Bright Start

This project in Lake Orion involved remodeling the kitchen and two bathrooms, and created a stylish view inside to rival the lake view outside the home.  The craftsman style design is the ultimate open plan kitchen packed with storage and an island that includes casual seating with colorful barstools.  The bathroom project included a furniture-like white vanity cabinet with clover molding.  His and hers cabinets and sinks are adjoined by a make-up vanity, and include matching white framed mirrors.  This project also included a powder room remodel with a furniture-style vanity cabinet.

A Customized Creation and Bright Contemporary Bath

More than just a kitchen design, this project in Harrison Township created a great room with an open plan kitchen/dining space and a living area.  Two islands are at the center of this design, one for food preparation and one for entertaining.  The 5’ Galley Workstation transforms one island into the ultimate kitchen work area along with accessories such as specialized storage and a pop up knife block.  The second island is set up with ample seating and an undercounter refrigerator – perfect for entertaining!  The project also included a contemporary bathroom that incorporated a floating vanity and mosaic tile details.
